Travelling with children:

We welcome children of all ages to JAWAI BERA LEOPARD CAMP. A maximum of two children are allowed to stay with their parents, up to 06 year without any extra charges. Any children above the age of 06 i.e from 07 year will either incur an extra person charge or a require separate booking.

Devgiri Cave Temple

which is located half way up the Jawai solitary hills and dedicated to Ashapura Mata Ji. The mother goddess of the hills is believed to guard the entire village.

Devgiri Temple Also known as the Leopard Temple! Famous for its constant 'Leopard Spotting' and the tunnel that is also a cave for the leopards. Many times, the priest (Pandit Ji) is in the vicinity of the leopards but hasn't come across any attack. No leopard has attacked the priest till date and the temple has its history that dates back to the time of 'The Pandavas!'

Thereafter move towards Jawai Dam where you find a great opportunity of crocodile sighting and bird watching with the area being haven for INDIAN BIRDS & more than 100 species of migratory birds (in Winter season) including flamingos, spot bill duck, demoiselle, knob-billed duck, common eastern crane, sarus cranes, bar-headed geese and many more.

Then move to dense forest -

During safari you experience the dense forest, see old traditional wells in a forest used by Rabari Tribal Communities for drinking water, an area of extraordinary natural beauty, Jawai has remained a well-kept secret for centuries apart from, of course, with its local inhabitants. The Rabari tribes, who are distinctive with their vivid red turbans, tend to their flocks of sheep, goats and cows.

During Safari you get experience to enjoy your packed lunch at a tree shade in a forest.

Evening tea at Jawai Dam in a Kullar (Mud cup also known as sakora) with experience of evening Leopard Safari and then back to Resort Camp.

No Show, Cancellation charges will be Non-Refundable

If You cancel/amend your Hotel booking within 30 days of check-in date, Cancellation charges will be Non-Refundable.

If You cancel/amend your Hotel booking within 45 days of check-in date, Cancellation charges will be 50%

Safari Amount is non. refundable and non. Transferable.

What to Pack

To make your experience more enjoyable, we have put together a small packing list that might help you plan your visit!

For your safari packing it is advised that you stick to a tonal, neutral colour palette (khaki, beige, light brown) and avoid dark colours as they absorb heat, and bright colours as they can attract bugs and other wild animals.

• A pair of long trousers, khakis, for safari
• A long sleeve cotton shirt, cotton t-shirts or vests
• Comfortable trousers for around camp
• Comfortable walking shoes/track shoes/hiking boots for walks
• Flat, closed toe shoes for around camp
• Wide-Brimmed Hat/ Panama, Safari Hat
• Swimming costume/ bathing suit
• Windbreaker/light jacket
• Lightweight shorts and t-shirts for the daytime
• Safari dresses, shorts for the ladies for around the camp if preferred
• A light fleece or long sleeve shirt
• Sunglasses, lip balm, mosquito repellent
• Camera, memory cards, chargers
• We do provide our guests with binoculars, but you are more than welcome to bring your own

Please note that the legs, shoulders and upper arms need to be covered at all times when visiting places of worship and our local communities.

The early mornings and evenings can be cold during the winter (November-February) so we recommend packing accordingly:

• A warm jacket or winter coat
• Warm beanie, winter hat and scarf
• Gloves
• Long-sleeve shirt
• Thermals
• Warm socks
• Warm jumper

Back at camp, some guests prefer freshening up before meals and others come through directly from the drive. Whatever you feel comfortable wearing for meals and lounging around the lodge and pool area is up to you, of course.

What photographic equipment do I pack?

Photography is a passion at JAWAI BERA LEOPARD CAMP and we do our utmost to ensure that our guests capture exceptional images whilst on safari with us. We suggest bringing your own camera and lens if you are a keen photographer. We do have some standard Nikon digital cameras to borrow at camp should you need. If you would like to hire a professional camera or lens for your safari, please let us know in advance by contacting our reservations team and we would be happy to try and arrange this for you. If you are bringing any electronic equipment or camera gear, don’t forget batteries and a battery charger. The use of drones is strictly prohibited at all JAWAI BERA LEOPARD CAMP property.
